Heroes N More is a passionate team of superheroes and princesses dedicated to bringing joy, hope, and inspiration to children facing life’s toughest battles — including those with terminal illnesses and disabilities. What began in 2013 as a heartfelt mission by David and Dawn Russell, inspired by their special needs son Gabe, has grown into a powerful movement of compassion and community.

Their very first event was a benefit for a young girl named Sophia, who had a non-cancerous brain disease. Since then, Heroes N More has grown from a small group of four costumed volunteers to a diverse team of over 40 dedicated individuals — including military veterans, nurses, stay-at-home parents, and professionals — all united by one mission: to be a force for good.

Through the magic of cosplay, the group transforms into beloved characters and visits children in hospitals, on hospice, and at special events throughout the city. They also send Hero Boxes to families in need, walk countless miles in support of causes like brain cancer, autism, breast cancer, oral cancer, and pediatric cancer, and share their message through media, career days, and community outreach.

Founder Dawn, who herself battles MS, continues to expand the causes they support. At its heart, Heroes N More is a tribute to the strength and resilience of the incredible young warriors they meet. It’s a reminder that being a hero doesn’t require a cape — only the willingness to care, to show up, and to make a difference.
